The 2020 Jeep® Wrangler is coming, and our Barrington, IL Jeep dealers can hardly contain their excitement. Here at Wickstrom Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, we’re big fans of the Jeep Wrangler, and what we know so far about the 2020 iteration has us itching to get this rugged SUV in our showroom.
With the Jeep Wrangler, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of room for improvement. How do you fix what’s already near-perfect? That said, Jeep plans to move even closer to perfection with the 2020 model year. While the news is still coming in about the latest version of Jeep’s most powerful SUV for sale, what we know is certainly exciting.
For starters, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler is expected to get a V6 eTorque engine, which utilizes a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The V6 is a step up from the existing 2.0-liter turbo-four hybrid engine, which has shown some pretty satisfying results. This V6 hybrid engine uses the same mild-hybrid system in the RAM 1500. In the RAM 1500, this system provides a dramatic boost to fuel economy and a significant improvement in the torque department. If we can expect the same results in the 2020 Jeep Wrangler, we may be looking at a far more off-road capable Jeep.
2020 is also expected to introduce a diesel option in the form of a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine. Coincidentally, that same engine will be packed into the ever-popular Jeep Gladiator. There are also rumors of a plug-in hybrid model of a Jeep Wrangler joining the lineup, adding even more diversity to this already value-packed SUV.
There is still some time until the new 2020 Jeep Wrangler reaches our showroom. Until then, our Jeep dealers at Wickstrom Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM are more than willing to discuss the hype and join in the speculation what we can expect in the future.
